Access to Opportunity: FFA Jacket Program

Awarded $1300

Hi, I’m Kelly Smith, Agriculture Education teacher and FFA Advisor at Putnam County High School.

I’m incredibly excited to share our Access to Opportunity: FFA Jacket Program, which will provide 15 official FFA jackets for students to check out and use for competitions, leadership events, and official functions before receiving one through a donor, the FFA Gift of Blue program, or purchasing their own.

This project ensures our students have access to a jacket in a timely manner, especially when opportunities arise quickly and ordering or shipping timelines could otherwise prevent them from participating.

Most importantly, this initiative removes financial barriers that can limit student involvement. Without access to an official jacket, students may miss out on competitions, leadership events, and valuable experiences that often come up with little notice. This project ensures that every student has the opportunity to be involved in FFA based on their interest and commitment, not their financial circumstances.

I am truly grateful to the Putnam Education Foundation for supporting our students and investing in their future.
