Hi, my name is Monique Lawson, and I’m a first grade teacher at Putnam County Primary School.
My Putnam County First Graders and I have been awarded a grant that will fully fund our classroom literacy podcast. I am super excited to bring our student-led podcast, Tiny Talons, to life! This project will give my scholars the opportunity to build literacy skills in a fun and meaningful way by reading, writing, collaborating, and sharing their thoughts about books and authors.
Through this experience, my students will grow in confidence as readers and speakers while learning how to collaborate and express their ideas. My hope is that this project will inspire a lifelong love of reading and empower my students to use their voices.
