Mini Market $$ Creating a Positive Learning Environment
Awarded $1500
Hi! My name is Skylar Cox, and I’m a first-grade teacher at Putnam County Primary School. I’ve taught alongside Mrs. Brandy Parham for seven years in an inclusion classroom, and we’re so excited to take a new step into team teaching next year.
My project focuses on creating a positive, engaging learning environment through a student run Mini Market. This is something we’re really excited about because it gives students the chance to build responsibility, practice basic math and decision making skills, and take ownership of real classroom jobs like cashier or inventory manager.
We hope this project will increase student engagement, improve positive behavior, and help our students feel confident, valued, and proud of the classroom community they help create.
Thank you so much to the Putnam Education Foundation for supporting our students and helping bring this exciting learning opportunity to life!
