Expanding the High School Piano Lab

Hi! My name is Amanda Stover, and I have the joy of teaching Putnam County High School students how to sing and play the piano. My students and I were so excited to hear the news that our project, “Expanding the PCHS Piano Lab,” has been approved and funded!
This $1300 grant is going to allow us to purchase 2 full-sized electric keyboard stations! I currently have 10+ students who have chosen to complete a Piano Pathway (3 semesters), and even a few who want to continue into their 4th/5th semester. These piano students have been working from small keyboards which are great for beginners (Piano 1), but don’t allow for teaching proper technique, dynamics, expression or nuance. Having these 2 full size keyboards will greatly benefit our Piano 2, 3 and 4 students and will unlock a whole new level of playing for all of these budding musicians. We couldn’t be more excited!
